There is an immense difference between trying to do something and training to do something.
Most of us try very hard to manage our finances. After all, nobody wants to have money problems, and we all try our best. The problem is that by “trying” we mean that we learn something new, and we then apply will power, hoping that we’ll get there. But then how come so many of us have money problems?
It's because just “knowing” what to do and even how to do it, and then applying will power is not a very reliable way of affecting transformation required for life change. We need training! The best analogy is that of a marathon runner. You don’t just start running and hope that you can last 26.2 miles, you would start with 1 mile a week, and then gradually add more, perhaps an extra mile each week, until your muscles, your routine, and your discipline catch up.
Personal finance is the same. That’s why we call it financial fitness. We teach you the basics, breaking things down into fundamentals, and we help you train by creating personalized plans, so you can be encouraged to practice towards realistic and achievable goals. The end result is replacing bad money habits with healthy ones and true transformation that lasts.
